DIY Distressed Shorts + How to Bleach A Pair of Shorts

Hi guys! Sorry for not posting recently, I've been too busy of my studies. Thankfully, I made time to make this simple DIY project. I AM REALLY SORRY FOR THE LOW QUALITY, our camera was needed to be repaired, so I used my camera phone, instead. Let's get started!

I accidentally bought a pair of shorts without any reason, (must be the effect of studying hard ;)) and I was shocked to see them at my cabinet. When I asked mom whose shorts those were, she said that it was mine and I bought it. So, yeah. Pretty stupid of me, huh? :D

TOOLS/MATERIALS:

*Pair of shorts or pants you want to cut

*Marking tool

*Scissors

*Cutter, tweezers, or any distressing tool

STEP 1: Mark on how short you want your shorts to be.

STEP 2: Cut the desired length.

STEP 3: Mark the place where you will distress your shorts. (TIP: Draw an oval-shaped figure and trace lines inside the shape)

STEP 4: Using scissors or a cutter, cut the lines you have just traced.

STEP 5: Using the tweezers, pull the thread out of the shorts, and pretty much distress it.

This is how it will look like after an hour of PATIENCE.

STEP 6: (OPTIONAL) Grab a bucket, bleach, and water. Fill a bucket with 3/4 water and 1/4 bleach. Soak the shorts, and wait for 1-2 hours until you get the desired color. (FINALLY FIXED THE CAMERA HERE)

DIY Galaxy Mustache Top

Remember my post about the DIY Galaxy Shoes? So, if you think my galaxy obsessions are over, well think again!

I have 2 pieces of mustache tops I made some time ago, so for today, its all about how to "galaxify" this mustache top. Let's get started!

TOOLS/MATERIALS:

*A mustache top/shirt; or you could just make one like I did

*Blue, Violet, Pink, and White textile paint

*Glitters

* Paintbrush

*Sponge

*An old toothbrush

*An old magazine

STEP 1: Put a n old magazine inside the top to prevent soaking the paint through.

STEP 2: Start painting. Start first using the blue paint as a base coat.

STEP 3: The begin with the violet paint.

STEP 4: Add pink and white, and blend it with the blue and violet paint, for it to be more "cloudy-fluffy-looking."

STEP 5: Using an old toothbrush, dip it in the white paint, and scrape it off to add the stars. Then add glitters for it to look more shiny.

And there you have it! A galaxy-riffic mustache top!

FUN TEE ♥

Hey guys! Let me share you what I did yesterday....SHOPPING! Yes, I was looking for shirts inside a department store at the mall, then I saw these shirts from the brand "Fun Tee" and I was left in aw how awesome their shirts were, and they were 10% off, so I stole 3 shirts, just kidding, I bought them! :D

This is the first shirt I bought, a MEME-BASED shirt. I loved the "Me Gusta" meme. It was originally 129 pesos (almost $4), but it was 10% off :D

The second shirt was a "MUSTACHE" inspired shirt. I loved how it has the different styles of mustaches of the world :D

This last shirt is my favorite, it is a "THE HUNGER GAMES" based shirt.

Exams are coming so I'll be gone for a week or two, gonna cram up and study what is needed to be studied.  Have a great week guys! :D

DIY: Scallop Shorts

I have these old pair of white shorts that was barely used, and I've also seen a lot of scallop shorts lately, I've been meaning to buy one, but I thought, hey, I could make one!

(BEFORE: LOUSY WHITE SHORTS)

Tools/Materials:

*A pair of shorts

*Scissors

*Pen and Cardboard for making the scallop pattern

Because the shorts were naturally cuffed, I cut the thread connecting the cuff. As you can see in the first  picture of this post, I already removed the cuff.

STEP 1:

Using the cardboard, pen, and scissor, make a scallop pattern. It depends on you on how big or how small the scallop should be.

STEP 2:

Trace the scallop pattern on the shorts.

STEP 3:

Using a zigzag stitch, sew the outline of the stitch and then cut the rest, leaving only the scallops.

VOILA! Scallop shorts :D I'd have to say, it turned out better than what I expected :D

DIY American Flag Shorts

I just adore flag shorts, I've been meaning to buy one, but I guess it's not very popular here in the Philippines, so why not make a pair?

 So let's get started!

Tools/Materials:

*A pair of shorts (preferably denim)

*White and Red fabric paint

*A paintbrush or sponge

*Tape

*Scissors

*Star Pattern

This is how it looks like before the process of painting it.

STEP 1:

Tape the areas where you don't want to get the paint on.

STEP 2:

Start painting the red and white stripes. I did another coat for the red stripes cause it kept getting transparent on the dark denim.

STEP 3:

Now paint the stars using your paintbrush and white fabric paint. Here's a TIP: When painting the stars, make sure that the tape is aligned diagonally, so the stars will also be aligned like that. (e.g. stars-space-stars-space)

STEP 4: (OPTIONAL)

Add studs!

Now you can wear these and show it of to your friends!
